Harrow town centre switches on at 5pm on Saturday 28 November, then six more high streets follow up to 11 December, with South Harrow on the list this year.
Harrow’s Christmas lights go on in seven high streets this year, starting with the town centre at 5pm on Saturday 28 November. Harrow Council published the full list on Friday 30 October.
South Harrow is new to the list. It was not one of the six high streets the Mayor lit in 2025.
The council also said lights are already up in places, and that they have been switched on for Diwali from 30 October (Harrow Council).
The seven switch-ons
| High street | Date | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Harrow town centre | Saturday 28 November | Event 12pm to 7pm, lights on at 5pm |
| South Harrow | Monday 30 November | Not yet published |
| Stanmore | Tuesday 1 December | 5pm |
| Sudbury Hill | Wednesday 2 December | 5.15pm |
| Rayners Lane | Wednesday 2 December | 6pm |
| Hatch End | Thursday 3 December | 4pm |
| North Harrow | Friday 11 December | 5pm |
The dates and times are the council’s. It says South Harrow’s details are “coming soon”.
What changed from last year
Last year’s list had six switch-ons, all within a week of the town centre party (Harrow Council, 29 November 2025, Wayback Machine copy). This year is different in three ways:
- South Harrow has been added.
- The town centre lights go on at 5pm, earlier than 2025’s 5.45pm.
- North Harrow comes last, on 11 December, a week after the rest. Last year it was on 5 December.
Pinner is still not on the council’s list.
What it means for you
- For the town centre switch-on, the day runs from midday. Harrow Town Centre BID says stalls trade from 12pm to 7pm. It has still not published a programme or line-up.
- Expect Station Road to close the night before. Last year it shut between College Road and Sheepcote Road from 9pm on the Friday to 10.30pm on the Saturday. We will add this year’s order to our roadworks and travel page when it appears.
- If you drive in, read our parking in Harrow page first. Tariffs changed in July.
- The weekday switch-ons are early evening, so most fall around the school run home. Hatch End’s 4pm start is the earliest.
Last year’s locations, the BID’s Christmas trail across six shopping areas, and the town centre details are on our Harrow Christmas lights switch-on page. We will update both when South Harrow’s time and the party programme are published.
