The Headstone Village Show returns to Headstone Manor on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August, and this year’s edition doubles as a birthday party: the museum is celebrating 40 years since it opened, with a 1980s theme running through the day. The show runs from 12pm to 5pm at Headstone Manor and Museum on Headstone Recreation Ground, Pinner View, HA2 6PX.

Entry costs £5 for adults, £3 for children under 12 and £12 for a group of four, while under 2s go free, according to the museum’s event page, which advises visitors to “avoid the queues and buy your tickets online”.

What’s on

Most of the day’s programme is included in the entry price. The museum lists live music on the Harrow Arts Centre stage, the 21st annual Harrow in LEAF Horticultural and Craft Show, family arts and crafts, outdoor theatre, walkabout entertainment and a stand from the Harrow Beekeepers Association.

The anniversary supplies the theme: to mark 40 years since the museum opened, there will be 1980s dance sessions, hula hoop workshops and a space hopper obstacle course.

Some attractions cost extra on the day, including the Duck Pond Market artisan stalls, fairground rides, community stalls and the food and drink vendors.

What it means for you

If you are planning to go, the museum recommends booking online through its event page rather than paying at the gate. Take a card either way: the site is a “cashless venue” and only accepts card payments at the door and in the cafe.
